Archives

The Biggleswade History Society has a number of documents and artifacts which are stored in its archive room in Biggleswade. Members can make use of the facilities there on request to the society’s Archivist or Secretary. It is planned to make the facilities available, by appointment, to non-members for a small charge; details will be announced here in due course.

Items held include an extensive collection of postcards, photographic prints, slide sets, local books, taped interviews with local people and documents.

Donations or loans of additional material are always welcome.

Photographs can be scanned and it may be possible to transfer certain cine film formats to alternative media.

The Society continues to actively seek a way of making these archives more accessible to the members and the general public at a museum facility.

It is intended to include indexes of our holdings here in due course.
